Hello. I recently returned to FFXIV in October after about a 6 month break. I never uninstalled the game so when I returned, I just launched it, it updated, good to go. However, ever since I started again, my sound in game only lasts a few minutes and then cuts out and never comes back no matter what I do. On top of that, when I logged out, no matter where or when or how, the game would fade ...1. Install the latest Windows updates. 2. Update or Rollback the audio driver in the Device Manager. Open Device Manager >> click sound, video and game controllers >> right- click your Audio driver >> click Update Driver. If the system says that you have the latest driver installed. Try to Roll back the driver.The simplest solution is to use a virtual audio device. It can point to any of the physical devices and as long as the virtual device is set as default in windows FFXIV will use it so you can switch devices without relogging. Razer Surround just manages your sound devices, kinda virtualizes them so even though you're doing stuff like muting/changing devices, FFXIV continues to see 'Razer Audio Device' and doesn't have a problem.
